PROBLEM - Strong Name Issues

Sep 21, 2011 at 8:20 PM

We are trying to use the Timeline Control in our project that has a strong name. When we reference the assembly and create a timeline we get an error that says, "Assembly generation failed -- Referenced assembly 'TimelineLibrary' does not have a string name"

We tried downloading the project source and adding a strong name to the project, but when we try to compile we get a FileNotFoundException when we add a TimelineBand to our TimelineTray. The exception reads

"FileNotFoundException was thrown on "TimelineBand": Set property 'System.Windows.ResourceDictionary.DeferrableContent' threw and exception"

The inner exeption reads
"Could not load file or assembly 'TimelineLibrary, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependecncies. The system cannot find the file specified

We have also tried using the IL Disassembler and Assembler command line tool to sign the assembly with our SNK, but we get the same issue as above.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Issue resolved by isolating the WPF project in the solution and removing all other projects. Once removed the strong name key was added and the project was built.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention that some of the projects would not run because the project itself was pointing to silverlight v5 while I had v4 installed. Editing the project in notepad and changing the desired version to 4 fixed that problem.
