Setting the starting date

Dec 16, 2009 at 9:35 PM

Hi

Thanks for the timeline control. It's brilliant. I am trying to set the InitialDateTime dynamically in code but it still uses the value from the markup. How can I do this ?

Thanks

InitialDateTime is static one time property. If you need to move timeline from the code you have to use TimelineTray.CurrentDateTime. Let me know if you have further questions on this.

Hey guys,

thanks from me as well for the control. It is absolutly awesome.

I got the similiar request to set the InitialStartDate/CurrentDateTime property to set the control to use a specific date passed over through an aspx page parameter.

I am using this code but it doesn't work.

Dim Dateparam As String = GetParam("InititalStartDate")  -- works
Dim InitalStartDate As DateTime = DateTime.Parse(Dateparam) --works

TimelineTray1.CurrentDateTime = InitalStartDate --value assignment works as well but the control doesn't take care of the new date

Is there anything I need to do after assigning the new CurrentDateTime to the object?

Thanks for your help!

Best,

Lars

I'm not familiar with VB, but it looks like your code is not stepping inside of If

        If Dateparam.Length > 0 And IsDate(Dateparam) Then
Dim InitalStartDate As DateTime = DateTime.Parse(Dateparam)
            timeline.CurrentDateTime = InitalStartDate
        End If
